چکیده

Water scarcity in the hill tract districts of Bangladesh becomes acute dry season as most streams, primary source water, up. However, groundwater, where available, can supply water throughout year. In this study, a total 37 samples were collected and analyzed from shallow (34) deep (3) wells Khagrachhari Sadar to assess their geochemical type suitability for drinking using multiparameter groundwater quality index (GWQI), well irrigation uses sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), residual carbonate (RSC), percentage (SP), Riverside Wilcox classifications. The physicochemical parameters characterized by relatively low EC, pH, positive redox potentials (Eh) millivolts, mostly soft water. Shallow dominated Ca–HCO3- Ca–Na–HCO3-type Na–HCO3-type Among major trace ions, there higher concentrations, exceeding safe standards, HCO3? NO3?, Fe2+, Mn2+ wells. Irrigation assessments GWQI results reveal that be considered good options both irrigation, while requires additional caution prior use agricultural purposes.
